Modesta Mahiga positions leaders to be endorsed and selected at the highest levels. She is the Founder and CEO of Authority Global LLC, a global advisory firm that helps senior leaders and institutions translate expertise into trusted authority. She is known for identifying The Authority Endorsement Gap - the difference between a leader’s competence and an institution’s and the public’s willingness to trust them with authority. Her work examines why highly capable leaders are often passed over for the most influential roles and how institutions ultimately decide whom they are willing to endorse.

Over the past two decades, Modesta has advised and equipped thousands of board and C-suite leaders, public officials, and international organizations across six continents on leadership positioning, succession, executive influence, and institutional reputation at the highest levels of decision-making. Through her Authority Assessment Framework, she helps leaders diagnose and close the gap between expertise and institutional and public endorsement. An entrepreneur and architect of leadership platforms, Modesta has founded and led eight ventures spanning developed and emerging markets. Her clients include Fortune 500 companies, multilateral institutions, and international development organizations. She is also the host of The Authority Advantage Podcast, where she explores how leaders build the credibility required to be trusted with influence at scale.
An author, sought-after keynote speaker, and thought leader on leadership authority and institutional trust, she has contributed to global leadership conversations at the World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings, the United Nations, the European Parliament, the U.S. State Department, TEDx, London Business School, and the International Trade Centre. Her leadership has been recognized through fellowships and honors, including Fortune 500 Most Powerful Women, World Bank Group Ideas For Action (I4A), Top 50 Women in Management Africa, the African Leadership Institute, and President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI).
Modesta holds an MBA from George Mason University, a Bachelor of Laws from Durham University, and is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania.
She coaches and mentors global leaders and contributes to nonprofit and faith-based initiatives focused on leadership development.
